Just got a ZWO AM5 mount yesterday and should be getting a ZWO 200mm pier extension some time today. (Future proofing my rig). The carrying case alone makes it so much more portable than my Celestron AVX mount that I haul around in a taped up original box.
Still using a my 8" SCT with the focuser from Celestron. Now with this more awesome mount from ZWO. The Celestron AVX worked well but I'm not planning to use it this year. I have cannibalized the AVX tripod for the AM5 mount so that will be solid. Thankfully the ASCOM Device Hub, after all possible software updates, still allows the imaging software to work with the hardware. Will be using SharpCap primarily again for live stacking and polar alignment. NINA 3 for some tasks like auto-focusing, and will try some basic planning. Stellarium for GOTO and image sensor orientation planning. But the Celestron Focuser Utility is...wonky. Crashes after clicking the calibrate button, but works. I am a little bit wary that the hardware/software from Celestron is starting to age.
